Bin 707 is one of Penfolds’ flagship Cabernet Sauvignons, first released in 1964. It was conceived by Max Schubert with the aim of producing a great Australian red wine built for long‑term aging and prestige. The “Year of the Dragon” edition is a special Lunar New Year gift box version celebrating the mythical dragon’s symbolism. It retains all the hallmarks of Bin 707: sourcing fruit from multiple premium regions across South Australia, intense fruit expression, new oak maturation, and a style that bridges power and elegance.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, expect dense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, dark cherry, cedar, pencil lead, and graphite with hints of sweet spice and mocha. The palate is full‑bodied and powerful: rich black fruit (cassis, blackberry), dark chocolate, anise, and savory notes wrapped in firm, polished tannins and well‑integrated oak. The finish is long and lingering—dark berries, spice, cedar and a touch of oak smoke. Best cellared for several years to allow further integration.
