Chateau de Montifaud L10 Premium Cognac
Chateau de Montifaud L10 Premium Cognac: Outstanding Value Premier Cru
The eaux-de-vie for the Chateau de Montifaud L10 Premium Cognac have been aged for a minimum of ten years and produced exclusively from Ugni Blanc grapes harvested in the Grande Champagne. Bottles from this small artisan house offer superb value for money - and this decade-old Cognac is certainly no exception to the rule. Floral and rich, it displays all the characteristics you’d expect from a Premier Cru Cognac. The chalky soils of the Grande Champagne allow the grapevines to reach deep and extract water even during hot summers, and the undulating hills give just the right amount of exposure to the elements. These factors combine to create ripe, flavorful grapes with high acidity - perfect for distilling quality eaux-de-vie.
The Vallet family have been the guardians of Château de Montifaud Cognac for six generations and are today responsible for 125 hectares of vineyards across the Grande and Petite Champagne regions. Specializing in traditional production methods, the family chooses to distil only Ugni Blanc grapes and age their Cognacs much longer than required by law.
