Giant Steps was founded by Phil Sexton in the Yarra Valley in 1997, with a focus on producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that express the purity and finesse of the region. The 2001 vintage was the winery’s first vintage, making this bottle an important part of Giant Steps’ early history. The wine was made with hand-picked fruit, extended maceration and maturation in barrel before bottling approximately 12 months later.
