Gold Foil Edition is a 16‑year‑old, non‑chill filtered, 120‑proof Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, crafted from barrels primarily aged in Wild Turkey’s Camp Nelson rickhouses. The unique climate and airflow of Camp Nelson create a richness and depth essential to achieving the bold, mature profile Bruce set out to capture.
The result is a bourbon with Wild Turkey’s signature mature oak “funk,” layered with dark fruit, cherry cola, clove, dark honey, and a long, peppery finish marked by brown sugar and leather.

Named after the wholesale grocer‑turned‑liquor distributor that helped create the Wild Turkey brand in the 1940s, the series draws from defining eras in the distillery’s past, honoring the whiskey, craftsmanship, and conviction that have endured for generations.
Launching after the final release of the Master’s Keep Series, Austin Nichols Archives introduces a new line of highly collectible, limited‑edition bourbons and marks the first Wild Turkey series led exclusively by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, carrying the Russell family legacy into its next generation.
INSPIRED BY A CLASSIC
The inaugural release, Gold Foil Edition, draws inspiration from one of Wild Turkey’s most beloved vintage bottlings from the 1980s and 1990s—nicknamed by fans as the “Cheesy Gold Foil.” Originally released between 1985 and 1992, these bottles later gained cult status among collectors for their remarkable depth, intensity, and unmistakable character.
Rather than recreating those whiskeys outright, Gold Foil Edition was crafted to match the complexity and magnitude of flavor typical of the so‑called Glut Era, when older barrels were often blended into standard bottlings, resulting in bourbons with a richness rarely found today.

Austin Nichols Archives is the first Wild Turkey series solely led by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, and the first to feature only his signature on the bottle. Conceived more than a decade ago, the series is both a personal passion project and a professional milestone—created to honor his grandfather, legendary Master Distiller Jimmy Russell, and to pay tribute to the eras that defined Wild Turkey bourbon.
Drawing on the same grains, yeast, mash bill, and distillation methods used for generations, Bruce will reimagine vintage inspirations through a modern lens—without ever compromising the foundations Jimmy built.
