Masahiro Distillery, established in 1883 in Okinawa (the Ryukyu Islands), began as a producer of awamori, the traditional Okinawan spirit. It is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in the region. The subtropical climate of Okinawa accelerates maturation, enabling whiskies to develop mature and fruity characteristics more quickly than in cooler climates.
