Monkey Shoulder is crafted by William Grant & Sons, an independent, family-owned Scotch whisky producer based in Dufftown, Speyside. Introduced in the early 2000s, it was designed to celebrate the art of blending malt whiskies from three of the company’s renowned distilleries—Glenfiddich, Balvenie, and Kininvie. The name “Monkey Shoulder” pays homage to a traditional maltmen’s condition caused by the repetitive task of turning barley by hand during the malting process. Each batch is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks to develop its signature smooth, rich, and approachable flavor, making it a modern classic among Scotch whiskies.
