Founded in 1824, The Macallan is one of Scotland’s most iconic and prestigious single malt whisky distilleries, situated in the heart of Speyside. The brand built its reputation on rich sherry‑seasoned oak maturation and meticulous craftsmanship, long before the modern expansions and new distillery site opened in 2018. Oscuro was originally released in 2010 as a premium travel retail expression within the 1824 Collection and later updated through the mid‑2010s, combining Macallan spirit from casks dating back through the late 1980s and early 1990s. Its name—“Oscuro,” meaning dark in Spanish—reflects its intensely rich, sherry‑influenced character and deep copper colour.

Deep burnished copper in colour, the nose delivers ripe woodland fruits, dark chocolate, orange zest and creamy vanilla from the sherry‑cask influence.
