Distillery background

Sullivans Cove was founded in 1994 in Tasmania and is among the earliest modern-era whisky distilleries in Australia. Over the years it has helped to establish Tasmania — and more broadly “new-world” whisky — on the global stage. The distillery relocated in 2004 to Cambridge (near Hobart) under the stewardship of Patrick Maguire, who refined the whisky-making process and introduced the bottle design and oak-regime that underpin the brand’s modern reputation.
