Jas Hennessy & Co was founded in 1765 in Cognac, France, by Richard Hennessy and has grown to be one of the foremost names in cognac. The VSOP style has been with them for over 200 years—indeed, Hennessy V.S.O.P was first created in 1817 at the request of the future King George IV.
