Kujira whisky is crafted by the historic Masahiro Distillery, established in 1883 in Okinawa, Japan. Originally renowned for producing awamori, a traditional Okinawan rice spirit, the distillery began applying its expertise in rice fermentation and koji mold to whisky-making—resulting in the creation of Kujira Ryukyu Whisky, a distinctive single grain whisky made from 100% rice and aged in the subtropical climate of the Ryukyu Islands.
