Jas Hennessy & Co, founded in 1765 in Cognac, France, has long been one of the most prestigious houses of cognac. Its founder, Richard Hennessy, established strong winemaking and blending traditions, amassing vast reserves of eaux‑de‑vie. Hennessy’s X.O (Extra Old) category, formalized in the late 19th century, represents one of their most luxurious blends, combining many aged eaux‑de‑vie to achieve depth, complexity, and character.
