Founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the Yamazaki Distillery is Japan’s oldest whisky distillery and the birthplace of Japanese single malt. Known for pioneering whisky production in Japan and its meticulous use of various oak casks, Yamazaki single malts helped define Japanese whisky on the world stage. The Owner’s Cask series was a private cask programme offered by Suntory (the parent company) between 2004 and 2010, allowing individuals and businesses to bottle entire casks into rare single malt releases.
