The Macallan was founded in 1824 in Speyside, Scotland. It is widely respected for its “Curiously Small Stills” and especially for its oak‑maturation prowess. The Sherry Oak Collection (of which the 12 Year Old is part) is matured exclusively in hand‑picked sherry‑seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain. These casks are crafted, toasted and seasoned to exacting standards by the Master of Wood and Macallan’s whisky‑making team.
