Rockford Wines, based in the Barossa Valley, is well known for its traditional winemaking philosophy — open ferments, basket‑pressing, old‑vine fruit and careful oak‑ageing. The “Rifle Range” Cabernet Sauvignon takes its name from Rifle Range Road, a historic piece of land in the valley where vineyards now grow, replacing the old small‑bore rifle range. The fruit for this wine comes predominantly from vineyards adjacent to Rifle Range Road, planted on heavy “Biscay” clay soils which lend a rich and earthy character.
