Cava d’Onice Micolore IGT Organic Red Wine 2022

Cava d’Onice is a family-owned estate located in the Val d’Orcia, near Montalcino, Tuscany. Founded in 2005 by Simone and Valter Nannetti, the winery is named after a nearby Etruscan onyx quarry, reflecting the region's rich history and natural beauty. The estate is dedicated to sustainable viticulture, producing wines that express the unique terroir of the area. The Micolore IGT Organic Red Wine 2022 is a testament to their commitment to quality and environmental stewardship.

The Micolore IGT Organic Red Wine 2022 is a blend of Sangiovese (85%), Canaiolo (10%), and Colorino (5%), sourced from vineyards situated at 350 meters above sea level. The soils are rich in clay and calcium, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the complexity of the wine. The vines are trained using the spurred cordon system, with an average age of 10 years. The wine undergoes traditional winemaking techniques, ensuring the preservation of the natural flavors and aromas of the grapes.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: The wine presents a brilliant, deep ruby-red color with purple highlights. On the nose, it offers fruity aromas with ample notes of marasca cherry and blueberries, displaying good intensity.

• Palate: The palate is pleasant, soft, and persistent, with a harmonious balance between fruitiness and subtle tannins. The organic cultivation enhances the purity and expression of the grape varieties. 

• Finish: The finish is smooth and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of ripe red fruits.
